Dr. Jim Bowers has been a physician in the Northwest for over 20 years and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He began his career in healthcare as a nurse at Northwest Hospital in Seattle. He attended the University of Washington and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 1984. After practicing nursing at Northwest Hospital he was accepted at the UW School of Medicine in 1987 and finished in 1991. He then completed an internal medicine residency at The Portland Program for General Internal Medicine including Chief Medical Resident from 1991-1994.
In addition to serving as an active staff physician at Northwest Hospital, Dr. Bowers served as Chief of Staff and Chief of Outpatient Medicine.
He has taken coursework in diagnostic, bedside ultrasound and continues to further his education using this modality. Dr. Bowers has extensive experience working with elderly patients and has pioneered a long term care program which services several assisted living facilities in our area.
Dr. Bowers' other passion is cooking. He attended The Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California in 2013 and enjoys teaching healthy cooking classes at Verdant Health in Lynnwood. He is currently studying to become certified in culinary medicine.
