We just got our supply of flu shots and there is one awaiting you at our office.
Flu shots are very important and ,even though they are not amazingly effective on an individual basis, can be very effective at limiting the spread of serious flu to a family or a group of co-workers. If you have grandparents then you should definitely get a flu shot. Studies have shown that immunized people around those who are susceptible to flu are better off. You don’t want to kill grandma! Get your flu shot.
You can not get the flu from a flu shot. Flu shots are made up of the proteins of the virus and do not contain the virus. Granted, some people get a little arm pain from the immunization, this is limited to a few days at most.
Remember that flu is a respiratory illness and not a gastrointestinal illness. Symptoms of flu include a high fever, cough, congestion and body aches. Symptoms of diarrhea and nausea are most likely due to an enterovirus like Norovirus.
A flu shot takes less than a minute. In fact, it takes longer to fill out the paperwork. Most insurance companies cover it. If you have to pay for it we only charge you what we pay for it.
So…what are you waiting for? Stop in soon.
